Web analytics using Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., a Delaware company with headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View (California), CA 94043, United States (Google). Google Analytics is a free web analytics tool from Google that primarily allows website owners to understand how users interact with their website. It also enables cookies on the domain of the site you are on and uses a set of cookies called __utma and __utmz to collect information anonymously and report on website trends without identifying individual users.
Facebook Custom Audiences and Facebook marketing services
We use the so-called "Facebook pixel" of the social network Facebook which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA, or if you live in the EU, Facebook Ireland Ltd., 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland ("Facebook"). Facebook has signed up to the Privacy Shield, the privacy agreement with the United States, and therefore offers the guarantee that it complies with European data protection legislation. With the help of the Facebook pixel, Facebook can, on the one hand, determine the visitors to our online offer as a target group for the display of advertisements (so-called "Facebook Ads"). When accessing our websites, Facebook directly integrates the Facebook pixel, which can store a so-called cookie, i.e. a small file, on the user's computer. If users then log in to Facebook or visit Facebook while logged in, their profile is recorded when they visit our online offer. The data collected about users is anonymised for us, i.e. it does not give us any indication of the user's identity. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook so that it can be linked to the respective user profile and used for its own advertising and market research purposes. If we send data to Facebook for matching purposes, it is encrypted locally in the browser and only then sent to Facebook via a secure https connection. This is only done for the purpose of matching with data that is also encrypted by Facebook. The data is processed by Facebook within the framework of Facebook's data usage guidelines. General information on the representation of Facebook Ads can be found in the Facebook data usage policy. Users can find special information and details about the Facebook Pixel and how it works in the Facebook Help area.
The legal basis for the processing of users' personal data is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
We use the Facebook pixel to show the Facebook Ads placed by us only to Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our online offer or who have certain characteristics (e.g. interest in certain topics or products that can be deduced from the web pages visited) that we pass on to Facebook (so-called "Custom Audiences"). With the help of the Facebook pixel, we also want to ensure that our Facebook Ads correspond to the potential interest of users and are not annoying. With the help of the Facebook Pixel, we can also track the effectiveness of Facebook Ads for statistical and market research purposes, as we can see whether users are redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad (so-called "Conversion").
According to its own instructions, Facebook stores the date and time of your visit, the specific internet address at which the social plugin is located and other technical data such as IP address, browser type and operating system for 90 days in order to further optimise Facebook's services. After 90 days, the data is anonymised so that it can no longer be associated with you.
Users can object to the collection by the Facebook pixel and the use of the data for the display of advertisements on Facebook. To configure what type of ads are displayed on Facebook, users can access the page created by Facebook and follow the instructions there for the settings of usage-based advertising. The settings are platform-independent, i.e. they are adopted for all devices, such as desktops or mobile devices. Users can also opt out of the use of cookies for audience measurement and advertising purposes via the opt-out page of the Network Advertising Initiative and also on the US website or the European website.
Google marketing and remarketing
We use the marketing and remarketing services (in short "Google Marketing Services") of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, ("Google"). Google has adhered to the Privacy Shield, the privacy agreement with the United States, and therefore offers the guarantee that it complies with European legislation on data protection. These Google Marketing Services allow us to deliver advertisements on/for our website in a more targeted manner, in order to present users only with advertisements that may correspond to their potential interests. In the event that a user views, for example, advertisements for products in which he/she has shown interest on other websites, this is called "remarketing". For this purpose, when you open one of our websites and other websites on which Google Marketing Services are active, Google executes a Google code directly and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or codes, also known as "web bugs") are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e. a small file, is stored on the user's device (equivalent technologies can also be used instead of cookies). Cookies can be stored by various domains, including google.com, doubleclick.net, invitemedia.com, admeld.com, googlesyndication.com or googleadservices.com. This file records which web pages the user has searched for, what content he/she was interested in and which offers he/she clicked on, as well as technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, the duration of the visit and other data about the use of the online offer. The IP address of the user is also recorded, and within the framework of Google Analytics we point out that the IP address is shortened within the member states of the European Union or in other signatories of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and only in exceptional cases is transmitted in its entirety to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address is not linked to user data within other Google offers. Google may also combine the aforementioned information with equivalent information from other sources. If you subsequently visit other websites, you may be shown advertisements tailored to your interests. Google Marketing Services processes user data pseudonymously. This means that Google does not store or process the name or email address of users, for example, but processes the relevant data in pseudonymous user profiles in connection with cookies. In other words, from Google's point of view, ads are not managed and displayed for a specific person, but for the owner of the cookie, irrespective of who the owner of the cookie is. This does not apply if a user has expressly authorised Google to process the data without this pseudonymisation. The information collected by Google Marketing Services about users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google servers in the USA. The Google Marketing Services services we use include the online advertising programme "Google AdWords". In the case of Google AdWorlds, each AdWords client contains a separate "conversion cookie". This means that the cookies cannot be traced back to the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained with the help of conversion cookies is used to compile conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. AdWords customers can see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that could be used to personally identify users. On the basis of Google Marketing Services "DoubleClick" advertisements from third parties may be integrated. DoubleClick uses cookies to enable Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on user visits to this website or other websites on the internet. On the basis of Google Marketing Services "AdSense" advertisements from third parties can be integrated. AdSense uses cookies to enable Google and its associated websites to serve ads based on user visits to this website or other websites on the internet. We may also use the "Google Optimizer" service. Google Optimizer enables us to test the effects of various changes to a website (e.g. changes to the input cells, layout, etc.) within the framework of so-called "A/B testing". For these tests, cookies are stored on the users' devices. For this purpose, only pseudonymised user data is processed. We can also use the "Google Tag Manager" to integrate and manage Google Analytics and Google Marketing services on our website. Further information on the use of data for marketing purposes by Google can be found on the overview page. You can view Google's privacy statement here.
The legal basis for the processing of users' personal data is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
Google Marketing Services enable us to deliver our advertisements on our website in a more targeted manner in order to present users only with advertisements that match their potential interests.
For this purpose, our legitimate interest also applies to the processing of data in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
According to its own instructions, the protocol data collected by Google is anonymised by deleting part of the IP address and cookie information after 9 or 18 months. Users can find more information here.
Cookies are stored on the user's computer, which transmits them to our website. Consequently, users also have full control over the use of cookies. Users can deactivate or limit the transmission of cookies by changing the settings in their internet browser. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it may not be possible to make full use of all the functions of the website.
If users wish to object to interest-oriented advertising by Google Marketing Services, they can use the opt-out and settings options offered by Google.
